I've used all 3 USB ports, and they work fine for other devices. I was finally able to get the iPod recognized by restarting the computer. (which I had tried before and it hadn't worked). Now I'm wondering why I keep having a recurrence of this issue, and why it doesn't have one specific solution. I expect it's going to keep happening, and I'd like to be able to figure out what's going on and what to do about it. Thank you for any input. Cat
