I have a 15" lampshade with a dead screen too. The adapter you need is
the mini-VGA, the same one that came with the white iBook.
Since the MacBook and the MacBookPro do not use that same adapter, you
should be able to pick one up cheap. If you can't find one, let me know.

Go to the "Sharing" preference panel and turn on "Personal File
Sharing" on both machines.
Then, from machine that is the destination, choose "Connect to
Server..." from the "Go" menu in the Finder.
In the small window that opens, click "Browse" and then navigate to
