Well, here's where I ended up... Handbrake H.264 - No good, regardless of the setting I tried. I got the "Apple iPod" preset to work, but only by switching the codec from h.264 to mpeg-4. The video is shrunk from 720x480 down to 320X240, but works well enough for my needs. I'm off to rip some
