Process: phone interview immediately, onsite interview. Can start as soon as
Monday depending on candidate availability
Looking for:
Minimum 5 years, ideally 7-10 years of professional experience with ideally 5+
years Linux experience (prefer Red Hat Linux)
Must have -- experience with disaster recovery, experience supporting an Oracle
production database environment and has set up failover for Oracle,
virtualization experience
This is a senior level engineer role (not just a Linux administrator role).
Will be a little design, install/configure
Purpose is to position and deploy development on a platform on production
Sr. Contract Linux System Engineer
We're in immediate need of a Senior Contract Linux System Engineer for a 1-2
month contract to improve upon and further develop our high-availability
production infrastructure.
Responsibilities will include:
· Develop production failover and disaster recovery solutions for systems
serving web applications and Oracle databases.
· Improve and expand upon current infrastructure, particularly:
· System and network monitoring.
· System hardening and network security.
· High-availability and performance aspects of network, OS and Database
configuration.
Experience with the following elements of our current technology stack is
highly preferred:
· Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5
· SELinux
· AIDE
· Shorewall
· OpenSSH
· OpenVPN
· Postfix
· Oracle Database SE
· Enterprise Manager
· OpenNMS and NetSNMP
