Duration: 2+ months Rate: $40-42/Hr Best Must be able to attend in-person interview at their own expenses. Description: As the leading member responsible for all FMS/3 supporting system service coordination and support across the FMS/3 project, the FMS/3 Application Coordination / Support Lead will be responsible for and coordinate the efforts of all tasks related to the building, migrating, releasing and supporting of FMS/3 system software components. Will also interact with different levels throughout organization: developers, architects, production support engineers and management. The FMS/3 Application Coordination / Support Lead will perform the following tasks: Assure that multiple disparate project groups are synchronized in the successful planning and execution of tasks project related tasks. This includes the management of physical communications events, plans, processes, documents and follow-up. Implement the ICVC strategy (Identify areas, groups and services required for project success, Communicate expectations, Verify required tasks and plans, Coordinate implementation of tasks and plans) Create and manage a coordination and support project plan to meet the needs of the FMS/3 project timeline. Manage and maintain a migration strategy for a very complex multi-development team, multi-platform project requirement. Develop or manage the development of deployment plans for the successful and iterative deployment of FMS/3 project application components across multiple environments assuring that multiple disparate project entities are synchronized in the successful planning and execution of tasks. Maintain and manage a centralized system for project Activity Management and Communication as a project information center. (FMS2 Activity Center). Develop and manage a support plan identifying all possible risks pertaining to application configuration, migration and deployment with a mitigation strategy for each. Build relationships with internal supporting services staff at FISA such as DBA, configuration management, network support, call center and operations staff to assure that all FMS/3 processes adhere to current company guidelines and that all required supporting services are available in a timely manner to meet project requirements and objectives. Research and recommend possible tools for automating software migration and deployment. Work closely with vendor and production support personnel to ensure the maintenance of a compliant and efficient development environment across multiple development groups. Maintain migration, deployment and release process. Perform process audits and improve communication. Ensure all project software deliverables are transitioned to the appropriate team (System Test, QA, and Production). Report on status of all responsible areas. Manage the software configuration and software release process. Provide first line of support for production or pre-production (stage) application failures. Support initial production cutover of FMS/3 software as well as all subsequent releases of FMS/3. SKILLS: Strong experience with the Quality Assurance process and SDLC process concentrating on software migration, deployment, release management and production support. Heavy experience developing, managing, coordinating and enforcing successful migration and deployment plans for complex distributed applications especially those implementing in J2EE based ERP systems. Experience in managing the transition of software components to multiple environments with quality while coordinating local and remote project staff members. Solid understanding of tools and technologies to automate and mitigate risk around the migration and deployment of complex systems. Solid understanding of software migration and deployment best practices and principles. Solid understanding of production support best practices and principles. General knowledge of distributed architectures using application servers, DBs, messaging software and other middleware components that me need to be coordinated into a single application. Working with Financial and accounting systems a PLUS. Working within a city or state government structure a PLUS.. EXPERIENCE: 5 or more years of experience with hands-on management of large, complex, application release and support efforts specifically involving multiple development teams and platforms (preferably on J2EE and/or Mainframe). Strong people skills and leadership qualities with the ability to build strong business relationships. Providing application migration, release and production support for at minimum two (2) full SDLC implementations as a hands-on manager with complete responsibility for all management requirements.
