make sure you append '.' to your classpath ;)

I believe you need a link in /usr/lib:
libstdc++-libc6.2-2.so.3 -> libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so
obtaining libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so was the difficult part. I had
very lit
xterm too, with or without a window manager ( icwwm):
