Do you use firefox? There is an option under options in advanced options
(accessibilty). Once there disable (if marked) the field where it says
'search for text when I start typing'. It may have to with that when you
hit enter it catches the auto complete address and not yours. In other

Hi,
This web site acts in a strange way, but you can easily navigate with a tab
and a few down arrows. The biggest problem was getting stuck in the edit
field, but some experimenting solved this. I am using jaws 10 and hit enter
on the desktop dictionary.com icon. This immediately put me into

No, I only meant that I never need to turn forms mode on when opening a
Browser. Putting an address into the address bar should not require you to
turn on forms mode.

In order for Dragon to work properly with Jaws you will need the correct
version of Dragon, Jaws and J-Say.
If you have Dragon 9.5, you will need Jaws 9.051.92 and J-Say 6.1.

I've been using a lot of dictionary.com recently. Though it seems compatible at
first, it has a couple of problems. The one that bothers me most is how to
find the dictionary entreys.

While in OE, I pressed the jaws key and H and then I pressed the Jaws key
with the control key and the W and copied this info here to paste so you see
what I mean by knowing how to do this for yourself...

There are just some web sites that are more difficult than others. It's they
way they have been developed and certainly not jaws friendly.
The very best thing you owe it to yourself to do is not get distracted by
trying to do things you might not need to know right now. Instead I strongl
right so try to avoid it and press enter. But even then puts me at address
not wanted. Trying to find out how to avoid that especially.

Oh? Hmmm, I have had to do this always or I press enter key and jaws says,
forms mode on...
If I don't press the enter key and then try to type in the edit field it
doesn't let me and it will put me somewhere else on the web page..
