When using the /type repair command you need to use the downloaded
installation file not the settings packager executable. When you use
Windows key with R then use the browse button and browse to the setup or
installation file that you downloaded from the Freedom Scientific web site.

the exe. file to my downloads folder. I did this due to a previous post on how

Yes, you may have to uninstall and reinstall, as normally you can do the
repair from the setup package, but as the message stated the product is
already installed. It may or may not lose one of your activations, so
