I copied this to user, as I feel it is import that everyone knows the current status
of Jetspeed 2.

It will merge with this list.

You will need to ask David since everything is currently running at Bluesunrise.

It is far from our intent to keep things private, we definitely want as much community
participation as possible. This has actually been what was killing us the most, not
being able to share with the community :( That's why we have been asking for people's
opinion on things for J2 (see my thread in user on JMX) and for ideas on things in
JSR-168 now that it is public. However, since we don't have a viable code drop
available for everyone to download it's hard to discuss the "guts" of Jetspeed 2
without developers having the source in front of them. I think what most users do not
realize is that there is a very real, very significant aspect of this that is
political. We cannot just go create a new CVS for Jetspeed 2 without first asking for
permission from Apache.

As it stands, we just received a new drop of Pluto and I am very busy trying refactor
the object model to fit into the new Pluto object model. So, right now everything for
me is broken. However, it is or goal to have a working drop in the jetspeed CVS as
soon as the political issues of creating a new, jakarta-jetspeed-2 CVS repo, in Apache
are resolved, more than likely using an older drop of Pluto that does not break the
existing code in the CVS.

I hope this is a light at the end of the tunnel for all of you chomping at the bit to
get a hold of jetspeed 1 ;)

I also want to thank the entire Jetspeed community for their patience in dealing with
the bureaucratic crap surrounding JSR-168 the NDA and everything else. Because
without a thriving community, Jetspeed will cease to be, and I don't think any of us
want that!
