Yes, that's standard across all the vendors. One of the things I do to
verify that there is no latency is to ping a destination on the other side
of the router at the same time and compare the latency. If it's something
external to the router the ping times will jump at the same time. If it

If you have a Tunnel PIC you can use logical-tunnel interfaces to link the
L3 routing-instance to the VPLS routing-instance. I don't know if there is a
way to install the logical-tunnel interface in the global routing table, if
not you may be able to export/import routes between the global table an
I really have no idea what the earning power of a JNCIS-FWV would be,
especially if that was the only certification one held, but if you
want to make the big bucks like me you'll want to couple that cert
with *quite* a few others ;)
All kidding aside, in my opinion, the biggest benefit to having a

In my country (Indonesia), an engineer with JNCIS certification can earn
between $500 - $1000/month.
Unless he/she is hired by international company and employed in Indonesia,
that's a truly different story :)

Hi guys,
I am using multiple logical routers on a juniper router, they are
connected through logical tunnels, or VLANs, or L2VPN, etc.
When I ping from one logical router to another, I always see some
glitch in ping response time, like this:
64 bytes from 1.1.2.1: icmp_seq=153 ttl=64 time=1.015
Hi - is there any way I can terminate a VPLS into a global routing table.
For example our customer is on a VPLS and we would like to provide him
access to the Internet through the global routing table. Simply bridge him
to the L3 interface that is in the global routing table and from there he
can g
Sorry for the off-topic question...but how much can a person with JNCIS-FW
make? Stefan? :)
BTW, I am translating your NBF into PIXOS.

On the Netscreen side of the fence, it's a dif
I do this too!!! Maybe that's why I never get anyone with a @jtac
address, either that or it could be my company's contract.

'ScreenOS Cookbook' is good, so are the manuals (somewhat). Your best
bet is to get your hands on the training manuals for the CJFV, IFVH,
AJVI, and APJF classes. Skip the 'Configuring Netscreen Firewalls'
and 'Configuring Juniper Networks NetScreen & SSG Firewalls' books by
Syngress unless you e
