Thanks so much Ivan. I was beginning to wonder if I was a victim of outdated
text book… and now I know I was as you have confirmed.
Thanks, I’ll continue to take those old books with a grain of salt.

Hi Aaron,
Although the JNCx Sybex books are valuable study guide, they are quite old
now. I quickly checked the JUNOS version that the book is based on, and it
shows 5.x
It is not a surprise that you can achieve what you have quoted from the
book. This was changed at some point in the JUNOS evolu
I am using logical systems in my lab and trying to see the
auto-advertisement of the lo0 interface working and it's not. Any ideas ?

Works fine, use fs.com for cheap fiber break out cables pre made for QSFP.

I am looking for a drop-in solution for our EX4200 and EX4300 equipment that
will give us more 10GbE at the access layer but doesn't require me to overhaul
all of the remaining infrastructure. The QFX5100-48T seems ideal except for its
lack of 10GbE optics. I am looking at combining a QFX-QSFP
While this does seem like a logical progression/replacement of hte
100g CFP MIC, I don't think QSFP28 on MPC3 is on their radar.
MPC3 isn't ideal for 100g anyhow as it only has a 130gbps backplane, I
doubt it will get much further attention in that area.

Sorry forgot to mention I had SR4 on mind,
Of course these are compatible using the 10x more expensive LR4 optical
modules.

Hi folks,
Just a pooling question,
I'd like to understand whether there are many of us who would like to see a
QSFP28 MIC for the 100GE modular MPC3E NG, that would make the card actually
futureproof and compatible with the MPC7/8/9/... cards.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Thanks
