I have it deployed in "enterprise-style" deployment (dual-stack for
the office users), on a SRX240-H cluster running 10.2R3. It works just

You don't strictly need a ssh key on the switch for it to work.
Also please note that this command can take a long time to achieve if
your resolver on the switch does not work. The switch tries to resolve
each IP address on the list.

SRX 3600 in cluster mode, running 10.1R2.8
1 SPC / 1 NPC per chassis
VPN in policy based mode with a remote CheckPoint
I can clearly see packet loss in the way SRX -> Checkpoint, resulting
in very poor performances in the tunnel
