You can always buy one spare from Juniper and the rest from vendors that

I have successfully done this on RE-400s on M7i's.
I used Sandisk 2GB Ultra II 15MB/s CFs. I believe the actual part number is
SDCFH-002G-A11.

The old 256 MB CF modules were Sandisk. The newer 1 GB CF modules are
Silicon Systems, at least for the M7i's we've purchased recently:

Hi list,
We are looking at adding a compact flash on our M7i boxes. If we don't order
it from Juniper, could someone tell me which manufacture Juniper uses for
CF? What's the R/W speed of the card or does it even matter? Any
specification of the card is appreciated. Thanks.

Yes- it appears to be possible to install and run Junos 9.0 with 256MB
CF in LAB environment (system is M320 w/ RE-4.0):

You can use 'show system storage' and look for
CF size.
Hope this helps

You can use 'show system storage' and look for the /dev/ad0* device.
Juniper indicates that 9.0+ requires a 1GB CF (though I'd be
interested to hear if someone has tried it on a 256MB card just for
kicks).

People,
We need to upgrade the JUNOS version of a M7i router.
How can I check (via junos cli) the total space and the available space
of the compact flash ?
The default space for CF in a M7i router is 256 MB ?
We need to upgrade the router to 9.0R2.1.
Thanks a lot,
Giuliano
