Hi there, we have a M20 with dual RE-2.0, both identical (RAM etc.)
The normal redundancy is, that one RE is master, the other is backup. In case of a failure on the master RE, it will switch over to the backup RE. It will also generate a YELLOW alarm. Let's say that the "old" master is rebooting then and is up after a short time. The "old" master is then backup but the alarm still remains, telling that the system is running on backup RE. Would it make sense to configure both RE's as master (since JunOS will handle it otherwise who's master and who's backup) to prevent this behaviour? Because we have two identical RE's, i don't care which one is master and which is backup. It's more important that the system is running. ;) I dont want to do a switchover (which might cause some problems with IGP etc.) just to get the alarm cleared. Any ideas or hints?
