I found this in mesa (https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/9922) and a more recent github issue on it as well (https://github.com/celluloid-player/celluloid/issues/901). The latter issue mentions that mesa 23.3 fixes it. Both these issues point to the same as what i have faced. So it is possible that this might not just be a Haruna only issue but mpv itself. However, after installing mpv through flatpak on wayland, i did not encounter this.
