RESOLVED: (at least for Kubuntu) In order to keep from clipboard contents from auto-inserting into Krunner, you must find the following setting: "Run command on clipboard contents" and delete any keyboard associations that are interfering with the "CTL+SPACE" krunner shortcut. When you search Krunner in the menu- it CUTS OFF this section.
