Can you add details here? https://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1254345 If we need to fix anything in KDE code, they'll let you know and you can reopen this report. [plasmashell] [Bug 518011] Wallpaper not loading leads to taskbar not starting
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=518011 Eugene Savitsky changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|WORKSFORME |--- Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED Ever confirmed|0 |1 --- Comment #4 from Eugene Savitsky --- Installed Tumbleweed to another notebook. And got the same problem. What I did: 1. Configured the panel: a) Moved to the left edge of the screen b) Set width = 96 px c) deleted from the panel: I. minimize windows / show desktop II. virtual desktops III. the lowest one, some "config panels"(?) d) Changed default "Only Icons" to "Icons & Text" (where the windows are shown as in Windows 10) 2. Applied Breed Twilight theme. 3. Applied Plasma settings to SDDM (for NumLock On). 4. I did not touched the wallpaper settings. And I did not saw what was the wallpaper at that time, since I mainly prefer full screen windows. 5. At this point Discover was not loading anymore, window appeared on the taskbar, animation was played for a few seconds and it was closed w/o any error. Tried multiple times. 6. Decided to restart. Plasma is now loading some ~20 seconds and no panel. 7. ~> plasmashell --replace qt.qml.propertyCache.append: Member visible of the object PlasmaQuick::Dialog overrides a member of the base object. Consider renaming it or adding final or override specifier qt.qml.propertyCache.append: Member enabled of the object DeclarativeDropArea overrides a member of the base object. Consider renaming it or adding final or override specifier QFSFileEngine::open: No file name specified qml: The backend got an unknown wallpaper provider type. The wallpaper will now fall back to the default. Please check your wallpaper configuration! 7. There is no wallpaper shown on the desktop, only black background. 8. Logging into Plasma after restart there is a wallpaper, but if I do CTRL+L form Plasma, then a black background is shown. 9. I will not change the wallpaper, as changing it fixed the problem when I filled the bug. Ready to test, provide logs. Maybe it is Tumbleweed only.
