In Outlook (& maybe others) you can set a rule (right click on
message) to send all of these to trash/deleted items. Still
receive them, but do not have to "manage" them.

When people have digest, the digest keeps getting reposted to the list. Most
digest people don't seem to be able to learn not to do that.
