Please continue to investigate this. My particular interest is with a TextBox and FormattedField; however, (as already suggested) if the Transparent Background were an option on the ColorPalette, it would be most useful. One "easy" solution could be adding a transparency value to the Color Picker window perhaps? If added to Color Picker, it would enable lots of stuff to have transparency.
