Did you say you are running on Windows? Have you tried Scrnxtra? I know it
can grab a DTS QT movie. The problem is I don't think it is OS X
compatible. Also don't know how smooth the swap is going to look. It's
something I was going to play with myself in the next couple days.

Not using Lingo as-is, you can't image the member and the sprite is
DTS-only so you can't get a stage image either.

I just had an idea:
Would it somehow be possible to get a screen grab of the frame of the
DTS video as the drop down menu is initiated.
I could then get that, stop the video, display the still image as a
bit map, drop down the menu, and on menu deactivate, reverse the
process and continue playing

And attempts to email him will likely garner another challenge! Doh! ;P

Hello all,
I need to add a vertex, with handles, to an existing vector shape. I'm
using a modified version of Michael Geary's Vector Editor program.
I have a unfilled circle. The user clicks anywhere on the circumference,
and I add a vertex there.
I know how to add the vertex, and the syntax for
I agree with you, Tom. If he wants to receive list mail, he should
configure his spam filter to allow everything from Lingo-L to come
through. Tab has done a great job of keeping the list spam-free,
bounce-free, and generally clean.

Right.

All,
Every post I make to this list garners me a response from
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'s AntispamUOL service asking me to validate myself or
something. Quite frankly this is not something I'm going to do and as
such I'm seeking list advice/opinion, is it good form to use these
services for _list_ email?

Yes, they are. Thanks for clearing that up.

No, I know, Tom,
But the thing is that we want this to be a dual purpose DVD. Video
watchable on DVD player as well as computer (there with interactive
menu, positioned just above the upper edge of the video, dropping down
right on top of it).
So the 'dropped over' is going to be a DVD video spri

Wait, are you talking about DVD videos or QuickTime videos? If it's QT
then go non-DTS and you're done. If it's DVD then I suppose they may
have made it possible, I do believe that we could have implemented
support for non-DTS playback

Tom,
I gave this a try, and it does work, only it is opaque whereas my
Creative Director wants the effect of it being translucent.
So as soon as it hits the video playing back, it becomes opaque (I can
manage to have it translucent over other bits of the stage and
desktop; using the window.blend)

See my reply on DirGames-l. In short, try using a MIAW that appears on
top of the stage window that is masked and thus tries to act like your
dropdown menu. The MIAW will draw on top if you keep
Hi,
I have a few Flash buttons in my Director movie, and seemingly
randomly they make the stage inactive when clicked. So what happens
when they are clicked is that the user sits in front of a grey screen
as I have the stage running full screen.
Upon clicking the 'windows' button, the system tray
