try updateLock = TRUE. Supposedly, it will stop all redrawing to the screen,
then you can set it back to FALSE.

I've had this sort of problem with PDF and acrobat.
1. first try putting the PDF next to the dir film that is opening it. If it
then works there
OM: how do you loop a list? say when the list reaches the last number.
