You cannot do this without an xtra... hm, maybe there is one way but I
haven't actually tried it yet... There is a method to use a 1 bit cast
member as a mask for a MIAW or your projector... Search the archives or DOUG
and you will probably find how it may be done.

I am reasonable with lingo but still grasping the parent/child & oop thing.
This is mostly for my own knowledge but I'm trying to make tools for future

i am still experimenting with different types, but as i explained in another rplyto
the original post: i should have mentioned (sorry) that i am also using the pdf xtra
which is a bit of an attention grabber: everytime the pdf on the main stage is clicked
on the pop-up disappears...
will keep
withouth the pdf xtra and it works nicely" opening a small pop up
miaw in front of a full screen backdrop just means that htat the popupo is greyed out
when it looses focus but it stays visible.

What "windowType" are you using? I am doing this type of thing on a
current project using a windowType = 49 (floating) and it working

MIAW's don't work in Shockwave. look into Linked Director Movies or
use Film Loops.

A possible alternative is to use Snapz Pro 2.0.1
to capture excatly what you describe and save it as QT.
You talking head MIAW could then just 'open' this
QT when required to show the user how it is done.

I am launching other dir files in a window and everything works
fine...but the dir files with quicktime movies in them don't stop
playing when you close the windowthe image and window are gone

I've gotten a similar effect, though, by mocking up a window with sprites.
It hangs around offstage until I whistle, then it comes running to the
coordinates I give it.

Hope you can help me with this problem of bringing back the focus on the
main window after closing a MIAW which called another MIAW. There is no
problem now with crashes when closing MIAWs and no problem on setting focus
if the MIAW to be closed does not call or open another
