Hi,
I tried searching the archives and documentation, but found nothing.
Does anyone have a clue why 3Com PXE NIC's, PXE version 0.99c.03 can't
boot here?
I get
PXE-E52: No IP address received from DHCP or BOOTP
PXE-M0F: Exiting PXE
Other similar setups with e. g. PXE 0.99j and upwards work fine.
Which distro are you using? I'm running Gentoo and GDM works well.
I'm not sure where this config file might be on other distros but check
/etc/X11/gdm/gdm.conf to make sure that you have Enable=true under the
[xdmcp] section.
Also check /var/log/messages to see if there are any clues in there:

im using LTSP 4.1 and can't seem to make GDM work. LTSP clients work
if the display manager is XDM. if I enable GDM, the screen hangs? I
don't know if setting the server security to HIGHER is the cause.

Dag,
The rc scripts are actually spawned by /sbin/init, which uses
/etc/inittab as its configuration file.
if you run 'man init', you should see some information about how
that works.
I've done lots of stuff from inittab. On a full Linux system, i had
it setup to run pppd from inittab. that w

I don't understand this. You want a vnc _server_ running on the
thinclient?
Anyway, first make it work by not doing it on startup (rather have a
I have a sound daemon (mrcvd from MuNAS) that I currently run on the
clients through inittab. However I would like to put it under lts.conf
control and launch it from rc.sound (or a rc.d script) instead (through
"mrcvd &").
So I was just wondering what difference it makes for mrcvd whether it is

Thomas,
On your server, you need ncurses-dev installed. That contains
header files for the ncurses package.
Somebody recently posted a nice list of things you need. If you search
the mailing list, look back 1 to 2 weeks ago, and you should be able
to find the list.

Hi,
On my computer with Mandrake 10 and a french keyboard, I can type
spanish keys (such as ¿ or ¡) with the "compose" key.
I have a spanish student who would like to do the same on a ltsp client,
but it doesn't work.
The server is MDK 9.2 and LTSP3

To me, it's a bit complicated, but you can use the Gconftool to control
users' desktop configuration. You can find some details in the Gnome
Desktop System Admin Guide. You can force settings for all users with
the gconf.xml.mandatory configuration source.

i am on my way to install a ltsp environnement for one of my client.
i will be using debian/ubuntu for desktop serving, because gnome and

I want to run 4 X servers on a client.

hi,
it is kind of stupid to answer my own question again, but i finally got
bison to compile cleanly. i just wanted to share with others, someone
may encounter the same problem in the future.
so the workaround is:

No, I must admit I think I meant to type 4 :\ That would be my own fool
fault for not proof reading my emails ;)
Same question, but with 4 substituted when you see 3, please.

Hi,

information.

some issues with 2.6, so that does not apply to me).
