The amount of logged in users is not the only parameter to decide the load of
a server. We have a range of terminal servers with different architectures

Ubuntu keeps the nvidia driver in restricted drivers. You need to
install the restricted drivers for the kernel into the chroot.
LTSP5's chroot uses apt. You should be able to do something like:
sudo chroot /opt/ltsp/i386 apt-get install nvidia-glx
and it will bring it all in.

We have had this question arise in the past with our users. The *best*
option, in our opinion, is to prevent boot server spoofing at the switch
level. A good Level 3 switch should you give the ability to not only
filter by MAC which is a weak form of security, but also to permit
dhcp-server traff

Francis, your post got me thinking.
I am a big fan of SSH PKI. If a login manager could be made to require
and id_dsa key, would that make the session more secure?
Maybe the open source etherboot project could be made to require server
identity before booting.
One way an attack like this could h

Hi,
I wish to discuss about security issues about LTSP. For example, anybody
that starts a DHCP server may make thin-clients booting on another
"alien" server. So, even with encrypted SSH connexions, the login is not
really protected.
By now, the only way I know to secure it more is to install

This may not work in LTSP environment. Try
$last|grep USER or $last|l

hi
How can I map the IP address of a client to the username on the
server?
e.g. a client with IP address of 123.123.0.2 is connected to the server and
the user on that machine has a session there with the username 'someuser'. If
I know the IP adress,
how can I get the username 'someuser'?
