NX and Maple don't work fine... I think the problem is SSH with Java
(but I have not tried NX without encryption) NX is good but for other
applications.
That is why we are still using XDMCP on most client.

that only happens if your do that with the same user.
Normally a user should be only at one place at a time.
Doing the standalone is a normal fedora installation.
