Have you tried konqueror? It starts without the left frame, but you can
quickly get it with an F9. I use it mainly becuase it launches faster than
nautilus, and it will preview photos and those other kind of things that
simpler file managers don't do. Plus it doesn't do that annoying "open

Hi folks
I was under the impression that RAM is everything in the server, so I
built one with a 2G celeron and 2G of RAM.
However the CPU regularly runs at 100% with only 10-15 clients, and there
are unacceptable delays for those clients. The RAM usage has never even
reached 1G and swap is of cou

change to gdm in mandrake control centre / display manager
then configure gdm in gdmsetup, making sure you allow remote sessions.
gdm will give you the options you need.

The wheel/centre button doesn`t work on any of my clients.
In lts.conf I tried:

X_MOUSE_DEVICE = "/dev/psaux"
X_MOUSE_BUTTONS= 3
ZAxisMapping= "4 5"
globally and per workstation, but none of this works.

I have LTSP server and some clients using japanese keyboards. I don`t need
any japanese characters, I just want to use the jp layout. So according to
my reading I just put:
XkbLayout = "jp"
into lts.conf for the terminals in question.
Only it doesn`t work. All terminals come up with the de

many KDE apps fail to run on the clients, even though they run just fine

They pop up briefly, then the KDE crash panel flashes on and itself
disappears, leaving the user wondering if his app is going to start or
not.
even Kterm does this, along with others such as Kpaint and
