We've separated the building of the kernel from everything else, so it
should be really easy to add a splash screen. I'd like to do it myself,
but I don't know how soon I can get to it.

will there be a support for a bootsplash screen in the new 4.2??
I did not find it in the docs and guess that this would be great since
the users how sit at a terminal generally do not understand the messages
they see - a nice logo would be geart a just a message : booting up ...
