Ok...what about this? Is it possible to restrict the cluster to servers only? That way you don't transmit the Xserver stuff over the network to and from the clients thus possibly messing with bandwidth. Can we simply build a server cluster that balnces among itself...leaving the client processor

First, James if you have not dones so let martin or Moshe know and they will likely but it up on the openMosix site. second, the really big advantage to useing openMosix with a LTSP cluster is to us the Cluster as the LTSP server, I ti sa good way to use smaller(read Cheaper or even recycle olde

Stephen, Basically the idea is to combine the processing power of all the idle CPU cycles on the client terminals (since all they are doing is running Xwindows or a shell if you set them to boot at runlevel 3) with the server. Kind of similar to having a really big multi-processor SMP box ;-) In

If your single server is running out of capacity, one way to expand is to add additional servers and build an openMosix cluster. For example, if you work in an organisation that is throwing away PIII 600MHz PCs with 256Mb RAM because they are 'too slow' for Windows XP, then you can grab them from t

Hello, For those who may be interested, I have produced an updated version of the LTSP+OpenMosix: A Mini How-To. While it is based on an installation of the K12LTSP 2.1.1 distribution, I believe in might be useful in other LTSP settings as well. I'm hoping Jim will post it to LTSP.org because I
