We have about a year using LTSP and some Netvistas with an xSeries (IBM's Intel based server) and IXS (integrated server card inside an iSeries) and we are ready to jump to the next wagon, using an LPAR on an 820 iSeries.
A good performance rule of thumb with Intel based servers is that you could handle 20 to 25 thin clients with a single server (2Ghz, 2GB RAM, 40GB HD) without degrading response time.

What could be a good 820 iSeries performance configuration for the Linux LPAR to handle 80 or 100 thin clients running simple openoffice, mail and web browsing applications?
