Hello,
I encounter a recurrent problem with LTSP (thin client on debian jessie,
ltsp-server version 5.5.8). When a user moves the scroll bar too fast in
whatever program it is (text editor, web browser, etc) he is
disconnected from the thin client and looses his session and thus any
unsaved work.
Sorry for late answer.

Hello, all.

hi,
I just want to point out that maybe the problem is with Ubuntu 10.04,
not LTSP.
When i try to use 1024x768 my screen goes black and the system hangs.
I had to stay with Ubuntu 9.10, where some of my monitors (10) are
'recognized' at a higher resolution, but it is still possible to change
it.

I'm trying to set a 1024x768 resolution, but your solution
doesn't change anything.
The thin-client boot, ubuntu load and when the monitor turn off then on
for the ldm screen, it's turn off and not on. I can switch to a console
but I don't have access to the GUI.

What resolution are you trying to set?
X_HORZSYNC=30.0-55.0 is too low, for 1024x768 try the following in
lts.conf:
[Default/or client mac address]
X_HORZSYNC=30.0-88.0
X_VERTREFRESH=50.0-65.0
XRANDR_MODE_0=1024x768

I have been attempting to install x11vnc on our clients. I previously
followed the "old" InstallX11VncOnLtspClients and got similar errors.
I have now followed the "new" InstallX11VncOnLtspClients (listed below)

Hello,
My ltsp server is on Mandriva2007.1
running LTSP4.2.
I am trying to boot a Gigabyte thin clinet PC, TA series.
I get the following error :

Hi,
please check the system itself having the network boot rom facility in the
NIC. If it have the boot rom ut will definitly supports PXE booting which
required for LTSP.
Try with VXL TC3831..low cost and you will get better perfomance..
cheers

Like this one? :)

I've often wondered if it would be really helpful for us to compile a
list of thin clients that we've worked with, and what issues we've had
-- or how successfully we've been able to get them to work with LTSP.
When searching for new thin clients (that had serial port support) for a
new project, i

Hi all,
I am curious about the support for OEM thin clients (i.e. the HP
T5135). What is really needed on the client in order to support LTSP,
how can I validate if this is the case?
I have found a lot of success stories with the HP 5125 but no mention
of the 5135.
Thanks,
Max

Thanks for the reply. It gave me some things to try. I wrote
everything down below, so sorry if it's long. If anyone has any ideas
based on this please let me know.
Thanks!

Hi,
I am having problems with usb thumbdrives being auto-detected. It is
kind of weird, since all my other local media (floppy, cd, hard drive)
is detected and I have tested on multiple hardware (completely different
computers) that are known to work.
I have a very vanilla install. In fact, I j
Running Ubuntu 6.10 / LTSP 5. When I turned on local device support,
everything worked perfectly; USB, floppy, CD-ROM, even the local hard
drive on a PC running as a thin client.
The problem is that it works too well. The HP T5125's thin clients that
I use have 32MB of flash memory on it with
Thanks for the info. I'll place an order today.

Damien,
Most people are using PXE these days, because so many computers come
with it built-in. It works great, and for most people, that's the best
way to go.
At DisklessWorkstations.Com, we offer both PXE and Etherboot, because
some people started out using Etherboot, and they just prefer to
I was about to buy a thin client and a few network cards from
http://www.disklessworkstations.com
I ran into a problem. Some thin clients use PXE and some use Etherboot.
The Ethernet cards have options as well. The AOpen card uses Etherboot.
The Linksys card uses bootp. I'm not sure if bootp is

It seems the problem is the X server starting with the wrong parameters.
Try to
Hello,
The thin client stops booting and the screen turns off after the step
"building the Xorg configuration files". Everything before seems to be
OK, dhcp and tftp are doing there job. The gdm.conf file contains the
two lines:
[Xdmcp]
Enable=true
The same thin client worked
perfectly on Debian
