The mismatch was due to a bug in the man pages which was not discovered
until March 29, 2010 which can happen in any software, open source or
not.
The bug was discovered by inspecting the source code when the XRANDR
settings seemed not to be working, which can be done only when the
source code is

Arrgh!
This took me at least 2 days of testing. :^(
I simply followed the man page of lts

XRANDR_MODE_0
NOT
XRANDR_MODE_01
(note the single digit. It is in the same style as the old X_MODE_0)

Hi,

I'm just posting my experience in case anybody else is fighting the same battle
I just fought...
I just spent a lot of time troubleshooting some video resolution issues. No
matter what I did, I couldn't get my 17" CRT monitor to display better than
800x600 resolution. I tried manually setting

Hi all,
Is it still possible to change screen resolution in LTSP5 through lts.conf? I
look into lts-parameters.gz and there's no any mentioning of it.
One of my clients only shows 800x600, I want to change it to 1024x768.
Happy holidays,

I use this to get a generic 1440x900 to display on LTSP4.1. Some old VIA
chipsets cannot display widescreen though.
X_VERTREFRESH = 56-76
X_HORZSYNC = 30-82
X_MODE_0= 1440x900 106.47 1440 1520 1672 1904
900 901 904 932 -HSync +Vs

Andrew,
I had the issue you mentioned and I found the reason was that the nvidia
drivers were not being loaded on the client in LTSP 4.2.
A little more information on this client would be beneficial to you here.

Hi,
The only thing I cannot get right on ltsp-4.2 is a screen resolution of
1440x900, even entering the resolution and sync rates. It works fine on
ltsp-5, but I'm using the Debian tarball on a Slackware-12 install and
printers and local storage are proving to be a nightmare. I would

Dear all,
I already built ltsp ver.4.2 under fedora 6 and running well on
800x600 resolution on client monitor. I try using 1024x768 res but
failed with blank screen.
I remember that when use ubuntu 6.10 with this monitor can use
1024x768 resolution and I run xvidtune and get this:
1024x768 65.0

How much vid memory on the card? If it no more than 1mb then 800x600 is
max you will get. Need
So far, so good. Got it working, with one exception:
The screen resolution stays at what looks like somewhere around 800x600,
no matter what I do.
I've tried setting X_MODE_0 with all sorts of values and rebooted the
workstation countless times.
