Chuck,
Wow, man, you saved not only my day, but a bunch of weeks of trying to
figure out how to get the darn dialog work.
I can't thank you enough. At least we have a work-around!

This was a great post. It really reopens the door to potentially

Almost certainly. It seems to be a product of the embedded commands the mac
synthesizer engine uses, which is used by all system voices. I suppose I'll
just have to put spaces in my code if this happens again. :)

I've noticed this since 10.8, maybe earlier. However, I can't work out any
pattern to it at all. Still, you're not alone in this one.

Do you think this is a voiceover specific thing?
I just tried the 3 left bracket secret with to online demos for Cepstral and
Cereproc. both of those programs read out the word.

Hi,
I'll state this mantra. Always backup your hard drive before a major OS

Hi list,
I've noticed a bug which I think has crept in with Mavericks. If I navigate by
word with option-right arrow, and delete a one letter word, VoiceOver will
incorrectly announce the letter which was deleted. It will speak the last
letter of the preceding word. This seems to be the case in

When you say it is a network printer and you attached it to your airport

Thanks again and best regards.

Hi,
Couldn't you just go to cell A1, then hold down the shift key while arrowing
down to the bottom of the list of names and over to the right once. This would
select everything in both columns. Copy the selection with cmd-c and when you
paste it, they will paste in the same order with tabs b
