"EATON DR DR" should probably be "EATON DR". The same record has "Recreation

map window seems to indicate that "Recreation Dr" may be correct.

Hello Jacques,
I found this one curious so quickly write the MB program below. It seems to
work fine on Pro v4.5, v6.0 and v7.0. Sorry, don't have v6.5 installed. I
presume the variable used for argument 2 to the Mid$() function is a
smallint or integer?

Hello Tony,
The MapInfo environment is naturally disadvantaged when it comes to node
thinning as there is no built-in support for topology. Without it, tools can
often be thrown by the simplest of topological differences between two
adjoining regions (e.g. an extra node). I ended up writing my own
Hi,
I did exactly this a few days ago: 2 select queries got stored along
with the WOR file. It works here and the second query selects from the
first one, so it should be possible. There may however be exceptions.
Try to edit the WOR file manually and add the second query - it might
help.

Hello Raffael,
First, simply create your 1km buffer around your bridge point. The next step
depends on whether you want to do the job manually with a single case or
process a batch. Let's assume it's a single manual case for the minute.
Start drawing a polygon which goes through your new buffer fo
The length of a string variable into which I read the record of a file is of

parameter (second argument) reaches 29696, there is an error message
"Overflow Mid$; argument 2 has invalid type". As the same formula has worked
Hello Keith,
There's no easy way I'm afraid but it possible to compute which polygons of
a region form holes ("-ve") and which are actual ("+ve"). There is also a
work-around which is the option I have chosen for most data development
projects.
The problem with identifying holes is that MapInfo r
I've been having a little trouble, and I wonder if this is the way MapInfo
"is".
Let's say I have a database of World Cities with the fields "Country" and
"CityName". First I do a SQL query for [Country = 'M'] and name that query
"ABC"; let's say I end up with 100 records in that query (ABC). Th
When using the grid option in thematic mapping, the "settings" dialog shows
the dimension of the basically square cells and the size of the grid by the
number of cells in width and in height for the file that will be created.
But when the MIG file is queried or converted back to a TAB cell map, it
Something is wrong with one of your polygons in the table. 7.0 gave me this
error all the time. 6.5 would just continue the process and you could have
a object or two disappear. MapInfo knows about this problem. I have not
encountered it yet in 7.5 since I have not had 7.5 that long. I have a
Hi Mike;
I have run into this as well. It appears that MI 7.5 is now taking the very first
row's value and making that the default Value name. I don't think you're doing
anything wrong here.
I have reported this issue to MI and am hoping they'll either release a patch for
this, or change it
Hi,
We have a total of 60,000 geocoded Turkish towns. Can be selected by
population (8500 geocoded with population), or postcodes, or
administrative role in the country.
Not free, I'm afraid. Price for place name & lat/long = $33/1000 records.
Best wishes

Hi,
When I select "Combine Objects to Column" for a table, I get the error message:
"Error Occurred Overlaying the Objects. Operation Cancelled"
Does anyone know what causes this error message and how I could get around it?
Thank you,

I am running MI Pro 7.5. When I manually combine two objects, somthing
wierd is going on. You get a data aggregation box that you can set the
value for each column in the table. Before 7.5, the default values MI put
in were always one of the two values that were being combined. Now,

I have got a bridge (Object is a point) over a river. Now I need to select
all objects of another table that are on the left / right side of the river
and within a certain distance (eg 1 kilometer) of the bridge.
I have no idea how to deal with the line direction in the Query. Any ideas?
Thanks

Has anyone come across any good raster to vector (semi-intelligent) line

in any semi-intelligent vector tracing.

Hello Keith
I've had such a problem. There's no standart way for this functionality. But I've made
this so :
1. extract all object polygons into different objects (using function extractnodes)
2. check whether at least one of these objects lays "entire within" another one.
The point is that when
