We've had good results from R2V, mostly using the semi-automated
interactive vectorizing of topographic contours. But, it'll
automatically vectorize an entire image well also, _if_ the image is
clean enough. From the sound of things, you'd have some image
processing to do so that your vector

Hello all.
MI Virgin here.
I am currently using Professional V7.8 and am having problems with raster
images.
I have registered my image as stated in the manual. It has created a .TAB
file, which I have then used to create a Geoset that I am using to create a
mapping application.

Hello -L'ers,
Can anyone recommend a raster to vector tool that works within Pro and
ideally has an API for use with our own software? The rasters should be
simple to process as they are a background colour plus 1 or 2 foreground
colours (the areas I need to vectorise). I could develop my own by t

Hi,
The UN has a free raster to vector package called mapscan.
It works very well on all sorts of input maps. A very handy feature
is that it allows you to georeference the resulting vectors and save
them in .mif format.
It can be found here :

I am in the process vertorizing dozens of early geologic maps. it is not an
easy task. I do the following steps
scan at 300 or 400 dip (grey scale or color - never just black and white) and
save in jpeg (sometimes tiff for very large files - I found a Kinkos that
charges me $20 per scan per

Dear readers,
I am in need of a raster to vector conversion software and am looking for

I have some very simple rasterimages in Mapinfo. They only contain white whith
black lines. I would like if there are a program out there able to convert the
black lines to vectors within MapInfo. Are there any such program available to
