Sharp has been doing that for as long as I know. They have some circuit that
regulates the current. It detects whether you are using headphones or line and
adjusts for it.

Hi. The tracking reliability of some older CD players is no where near the
newer units.
You can find new units with TOSlink outputs at such a low price that I don't
think it pays to get an older unit. The lasers do tend to cause problems as
they get older.

Hey don't knock it. At least in those days when folk music was popular, they
usually sang sons that were about something. Either they told a story (MTA is

Hey All. I'm having a hell of a time trying to find some sort of record of
standard home CD player components that have digital outs. Obviously, the
manufacturer web sites (e.g. Sony) give specs for current models, but I'm
looking at buying a used older model. The web sites don't keep the s

I take it they are "active" negative-feedback noise reducing phones?
Rather than spend a few dozen dollars on phones,
I think that is worth repeating... If the ambient noise level is so
high that you can't hear your music without playing it at dangerous
levels, just don't play it.
OTOH, you can buy stock in hearing aid companies and maybe make a mint.

So what you really need, to prevent damaging your hearing, is a pair of
Etymotic headphones with their 27dB attenuation of outside noise 3#-)

Looks like I did the right thing with this, However, I wanted to tell
anyone that is interested that the Modem has to be purchased between
7/25/99 and 7/31/99 according to the rebate coupon.

My MDH-10 MD-Data drive is useless, sitting in its original box in my
closet.
I am thinking to be rid of it once and for all.
Before I get rid of it, does anyone have any free software for PC that
will let me title audio MDs with it? If I can at least do that with it,
it would be worth keeping.
Hi everyone!
During the 60s and the 70s, companuies marketed car cassette or eight-track
cartridge players that had no tuner built into them. These players were
designed with the fact that the existing car radio was to provide
radio-based entertainment in the car. They were often designed to fit

As another DJ, I agree with your observation, but the fact of the matter is
that the other poster is correct: pitch and tempo are completely di

Hi,
I just wanted to report that the German Schaulandt chain
is selling Sony JE 530's for EUR 178 (~$166) and JE 330
for only EUR 152 (~$143).
It almost seems like Sony is pushing drown prices very
hard to compete with PC CD-R drives...
