I don't think it's a rebranded drive, but it's supported in the latest Nero
(www.ahead.de), and Adaptec's Easy CD
DO you have any idea who makes the unit? I suspect someone makes it for
Iomega, and will any other software work with it or are you stuck with
the software that came with it?

Does anybody know the resistor value I need to put across pins 2 and 4
on the R55 remote to trigger END SEARCH. I can do virtually everything

Then the drivers must be badly written. It's running under Win98 on a P2 500Mhz system
and there iy takes half an
hour to write 650Mb to a CDRW. I use the CD-ROM drive which is a 16speed to install
software on the mac
I should've clarified it to be post '98 models. Which is why your 670

But for the sake of common practice for the protection of sensitive
electronics, keeping something grounded is a good thing to do. I can
understand it from the automotive point of view to remove the negative lead
first but particularly when dealing with starter motors and whatnot, you can

Yes, I just bought one from Fry's in Anaheim Hills today (it's perking
away formatting a RW disk). The price was $210. Iomega is offering a
$30 rebate, good through March 17, 2000.

Everyone,
I am looking to maybe sell my blue Sony R55 portable and was wondering what
I might fetch for it. Any offers? The unit has hardly been used and would
come with a ServiRed leather case. Original box and docs, too. Need to
generate some $$ so I can buy a new PowerBook.
I also have some

Yes I do, we have one at work. It's not a bad product, but it is only a
4x read, 4x write 2x rewrite drive. You can get much better drives that
are cheaper if you look a
