o German online MD shop MiniManiax has conducted several [1]MD torture
tests (in German, with photos), including 10 minutes each in a 50C
oven and boiling water, and being run over by a car. In all cases
the audio on the disc survived.
Just to double check that this "static" doesn't exist on the original CD ?
I know some of my CDs have the static, hiss, pop associated with vinyl.
Also, what does the level meter on the r70 say at the point of the static,
is it maxed out ? If not, then it's not the recording level.

In my opinion there is no best brand. It is not so much the brand as the batch
and quality control at that particular time.
Today's most reliable brand may exhibit some mechanical problems 6 months from
now. Manufactures can improve quality control based on repeated complaints of
customers. O
I hope the become more common. I just got my Sharp MD-MT15 last week,
and have been having a hard time getting a hold of blanks. I live in
downtown seattle and don't have a car right now. So far the only place
I can find them is Tower Records, which is a ways from where I live.

I'm curious as to everyone's opinion on what the best brand of MiniDisc
happens to be. I've been pleased with the results of the Sony 74s and 80s,
both in my Sony deck and my Aiwa portable; TDKs also seem very good.
I've tried a few Maxells (Gold), but of all my MiniDiscs, the two Maxells

Thanks, I was wondering when we would see them. I saw the 74 minute
ones at my local CVS drug store. Maybe MD is becomming more common
place?

A Sony 80-Minute MD 2-pack (MDW80H/2B, SKU#: 399) has arrived at Best
Buy stores at the retail cost of $6.99. It will be followed shortly by a
Memorex 80-Minute 'Crystal' MD 10-pack (15208465, SKU#: 3911887) that will
sell for $22.99. Look for it soon at your local Best Buy store

Chances are you are recording too loud. You need to adjust the recording
level low enough, because if it is too high, the sound tends to distort.

I attempted to make a live recording using my new Sony
MZ-R90 last night, and the resulting recording is so
distorted that it's almost unintelligible. I was using
mini-cardioid mics plugged into the MIC IN (no external
power) and tried using both the AGC and setting the
recording levels myself.

You must be not looking in the right place. The sound recorder is a standard
part of Windows 98 and I believe has been a standard part of Windows from way
back.

Hi everyone... I'm looking for a wholesale distributor for MD recorder and
MD player of all brands (Sony, Sharp, Aiwa, Panasonic). If someone know a
wholesale store or a place where I can buy them for wholesale price for our
store, let me know please...
Pierre.

Hi folks,
I live in Europe, can anybody give me a hint where I am able to buy (online
or shop, doesn't matter) the MX25, the Addon Card to my Diamond Monster
Sound MX300, which features Optical Out?
If you can't tell me a place where to buy (cuz perhaps Diamond stopped to
manufacture them etc..
I'm online bidding for a Tascam 564.
It's a first generation MD 4-track, older
than the Yamaha 4 and 8tracks, BUT the
features on the Tascam are *so* beyond any
of the Yamaha md 4tracks.
Tascam 564 has 4xlr inputs, the comparable
yamaha 4trks have at most, 2. The sad thing
is that yamaha makes on
