I just found an interesting issue or observation.
I have a CD that was recorded with emphasis. The disc is classical music,
and I am sure the recording crew deemed it necessary to record this way
to better represent highs and move some of the noise into regions of the
sound spectrum where the no
I have a Mac G4 and I am brand new to using my mini disc recorder, the

simple question. If I record a single track on the mini disc, can I add
tracks to the sound file with Peak? I have used cut and paste (to a new

Hi Shaun,
I'm forwarding your note to the Minidisc mailing list (MD-L). I do
remember an MD-L old timer who had a JVC XM-D1. If I recall correctly,
he thought that machine was the cat's pajamas too. Hopefully someone
out there still has one they can sell you.
The machine is: http://www.minidisc

I have done quite a bit of LP-to-MD. The biggest hint I can offer is:
Do it a track at a time. Fade out at the end of each track to eliminate
surface noise between tracks. I use "A-B" edit to chop off the surface
noise at the beginning of each track. (Point A is set to "track top" and

This is enforced by firmware in the drive. MD audio discs will not record in an
unmodified MD data drive. MD audio di

Well, I've tried a number of solutions. They all work more or less.
However, in order to remove noise, they necessarily distort the music to
some degree. My feeling is that unless the records are in very bad shape,
it is better to leave them alone.
The most important thing you can do is proper

your sound sytem to actually ADD clicks pops and noise to make your recording
