Hi all, I'm back after a really long time...a few years ago I bought a grey
market Kenwood DMC-G7R and about a month later it broke on me -sniff- so I
stepped out of the world of Minidisc until now! I've got me an MZR-700 which
I'm extremely impressed with. Anyway, my question is, should I have g

Thanks for the advice and information, guys. I figure I'll just stick to
what's been working well for me. I've basically just been picking up Sony
discs (I have one that came with my unit, and 80 min EQ(?) I think, as well
as an 80 min Prism), and they've worked well enough thus far.

My recordings still skip, and cleaning the MD lens didn't help. I would
like to try raising recording laser power a couple ticks. Does anyone
have any ideas on how to get into Test Mode on this minisystem?

hey,
a few times I heard mentioned that target will be selling the sony mz-r700
for $199 -- I called up the closest target store today and they finally
got them in but the price is $249..
has anyone else seen this price at target? I called up two other targets
in the area and they haven't gott

Ever try playing a CD-ROM in an audio CD player? Assuming it is possible
to play a data cartridge in an audio deck (which I cannot confirm), the

| A. Maybe the bits are stored on a carrier wave? Like a T1, per se.
This would require modulation, like the old C64 and Apple ][ tapes. And
yes, doing so would require some very high frequency square waves. Maybe
DCC does that, b

Hi miniDisc enthusiasts,
I need a solution to a current problem and I am hoping someone out there can
help. I am running a rather long fiber optic cable (about 30 ft) from my
computer's sound card (with optical output) to my MD Deck. However, the MD
Deck doesn't pick up on the signal because of d

Does anyone know where I can find the EEPROM settings for a Sharp 722, or
