Pass. I have a big old portable player that pumps deep bass, and a new small
portable recorder with separate bass and treble. MDLP and grouping is a huge
non-feature for me. The entire reason I committed to MD is because of its
very high fidelity, so the last thing I want is to introduce overc

Read the manual, man. You'd be lucky to get 2 h of battery life while
recording. If you're going to record for long periods, use the plug or the
backup battery pack that comes with it to augment the gumstick with a AA. I
always plug mine in when recording.

Does anyone have any problems with the battery life on an R900?
For me, it seems to have a VERY short battery life, especially while recording.
If I'm lucky I can get 2 hours out of recording without the battery logo
flashing or it shutting off because of batteries low.

I use Memorex a lot. I used to buy those 20-packs of 74-minute color MDs and
10-packs of the 80-minute ones. I am pretty happy with their performance. I
even use them for live recording (usually 1 80-minute and 1 74-minute disc

recnetly bought an MZ G750 and have been really disappointed with its
battery life. I spend far more time on the radio than playing discs
whilst I am at work and I only seem to get about 10 hours of radio play.
Needless to say I get considerably less on disc play.
