I'm in the UK and have a DVD player (the Scan SC-2000). It has optical
audio output. However when recording CDs to either my MZ-R90 or a
MDS-JE330 deck, track makrs are not inserted into the MD at the correct
place. I presumed this was because the unit is a DVD player, not
specifically a CD playe

I know the Japanese version of all the Sony MD recorders supports
titling in the phonetic katakana character set. However, the US
versions seem to only support display of katakana characters, not
input.
Is there any kind of hack I can do to my US MZ-R70 to allow katakana
input? I listen to a lot
h the R70 is model RM-MZ3R. If I order a
RM-MZR55 remote, will it work with my R70?

The reason that I want to do this is I record L
Does anyone know where there is a deck with both a minidisc and a CD-R
in it.. I want to be able to copy MD directly to CD without using a
computer at preferably greater than 1x, all the CD/MD decks I have seen
are CD players not CD-R

I bought the Kenwood KMD 870R head unit and have been very pleased with it's
performance. The tuner is excellent and I generally prefer the feel of
Kenwood in-car stuff. It feels better made than the Sony stuff. I'd pay the
extra and go for the Kenwood.
