This may be a dumb question, but is G-Protection
anything additional to the units? I thought it was just
a marketing name for the normal 40 second buffer.
Can anyone verify?

yes, but it's not that big of a rebate... I got my mail

going through in detail, it's hard to tell if it's money
or just a discount on the next purchase, from the way it's written.

I'm guessing outlook has a similar thing to import the address book from
netscape.
This is information is based on what is on my compute which is

This may sound like a weird question, but I'm curious to see if anybody
else has experienced this, or if my ears are just off. I've got an
MZ-R50 that is about a year and a half old, and works like a charm.

Ok, Summer is here, and it's time for the
unending question...
Is there a decent MD "boombox" worth getting that
can run on batteries. I'm looking for something to take
to the park, and crank up the tunes while I juggle. I'm torn
between looking for a boombox or speakerset for my R50.

I just followed the link from minidisc.org for the $100 system, and
it's now $199. Am I missing something, was the page wrong yesterday?
Did anybody get an order in at $99?

Not sure where the 'button' is off the top of my head, but I do recall
there being web pages with closeup shots of a disassembled R50, that
you should be able to find on www.minidisc.org.
Luckily there is pretty much somebody crazy enough to take apart
evertyhing they own, photograph it, and
uhm, yes there IS software you can buy to get close to what you want.
You'd be better off getting original cuts from the studio straight
from the board, instead of trying to "disassemble" the music you've
got already. You probably already know that... so sorry
for stating the obvious...
Anyway,
Actually on the pages I've seen regarding how to get into service mode
on whatever deck or portable, that statement IS there...

I'm not sure where the best place to buy is for the cheapest price. I got

I would look at buy.com and mobshop.com You can usually find pretty
good deals there.

what about Sony's CD-MD combo that writes at 4x?
have there been issues with that? I vaugely recall guidelines for

being balanced due to labels, or excessive cover art on the disc.
I don't recall there being a problem with the MD m
