The rep from Circuit City replied to a list member saying that he thinks he
can hear the difference between CD source and MD copy. My question is, has
he heard the lastest ATRAC-versioned MDs or is this something he noticed
back in 1991? I'd ask him myself, but I don't have his email address.

I'll bet with your collection of MDs, there weren't many requests you didn't
have Rodney.

Hello all,
Best Buy quickly responded to my inquiry about those rumours of the chain
dropping MD. Since the response was of a business nature, I hope I'm not
out of line to quote it here:

Well if you're in the US or nearby, Best Buy has prerecs and they're usually
*cheaper* than the corresponding CD! BTW, someone else noted that Warner
Brothers (or perhaps just the
Sony had better rethink its advertising campaign. Enough of those vague
"Infiniti" style ads. Just tell people what MD is and *why* they should buy
it. Time for a new ad agency indeed.

Hi Sean,
Thanks for the info. I could live with the short battery life I guess, but
one thing that bugs me is: what happens if you damage your remote? If there
are no controls on the main unit, I assume that means you can't use the unit
at all?!? That seems pretty weird. Your thoughts?

Has the list ever been polled to find out once and for all how many people
are FOR End Search and how many are AGAINST it? Gaz, was it you running the
list of member profiles? Did you ask that question in the profile? If not,
can we do a quick poll somewhere and find out just how popular this

Thanks all.

As you may know, Sony (US) has a $50 rebate for anyone who buys a car player
between April 1, 1999 and September 30, 1999. Today, I bought a 7900
display model from Best Buy. Problem is it had no box and you have to have
a 7900 box UPC bar code with model # to send in for the rebate. My questi

This makes me wonder: can anyone think of a reason Sony would implement end
search in port
that we have CD decks like the Pioneer
CDJ 500, we're able to speed up (tempo) a song *without* changing the key
(pitch).
