I'm agreeable to the reliability of the Sony portables as my MZR-30 lasted 3 years and the Li-Ion battery is still going strong... The only reason why I sold it to a friend was because i 'upgraded' to a Sharp 831. A word of caution though, the reliability of Sony does not extend to their accesso

FWIW, I've got: ST-S261 tuner (about 4 years old, still perfect) Tape desk (can't remember model number but 3 years old, no problems) Discman (about 2 years old - ESP is a bit less efficient but plays fine) Clock Radio (5 years old, works fine) Playstation (still great) MZ-R55 (coming up to a y
