What about the Digiram VXPocket pc card? It seems perfect for people who
want to record digitally.
It seems to have a lot of features too. including 24-bit converters, full
duplex 2 balanced/mic inputs and outputs. spdif in and out.

Sound Professionals has a USB device that you could use if your laptop has a
USP port. It's on sale now as well.
