Indeed it is obnoxious! :) I dual-boot win2k and linux, but I have yet to
try it under linux...I doubt it will work because it is brand new and it
works by taking control of the audio device when it is plugged in. As
soon as you unplug it, the sound card becomes the audio device

I'm wondering if anyone has used the Xitel DG1 USB->MD adapter ? For those
that have it, do you need to use the supplied software, or can you use any
software (winamp, windows media player, ...etc) to play out of the xitel
device. I assume it simply shows up as another audio device
The only time I have a problem with track marks is when I record
something with tracks that just flow into each other. In those
cases, I have to manually split the tracks.
However, on discs where the tracks do gap, on their own, my Sharp
MD-MT15 does the track marks just fine.
