for sending the messages via group, you may want to have a look at the
app called group sms which is available at:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobappli.groupsms&hl=en
this is free app and pro version of this app let you create the group
and send the sms.
i have tested
you mean sending a message to multiple contacts at ones?
Then you can do it through broadcast list which you can find by
tapping more actions in whatsapp.
I havent tried it yet though
