I worked with him on two different TV shows in the late 1970s in NYC. He
was polite and always friendly. A really nice person. I met him again a
few years ago at an autograph show with Dana Winters and he did sign my
"Body Snatchers" lobby cards but he seemed a little distant and
distracted. He'll

some years ago when I went up to him in a restaurant. Not polite, I
know, but I just had to greet him and hadn't had a chance to see him
before. Mr. McCarthy couldn't have been more gracious. I didn't
