This year we have to be out of our classrooms for 3-hour blocks of time for
professional development. It is impossible to leave a sub to juggle 3/4

You might want to consider the works of Walter Dean Myers (HOOPS; SLAM!). His
books tend to be written in a way that draws the reader in and keeps him/her
engaged throughout the story. In addition, many proficient readers also love
his books.
