As I looked out my Lodge window this morning I was very surprised to see a
small
owl roosting on a tree limb. I believe it to be a Northern Saw-whet. The owl
roosted from 8:10 am until 2:40 pm changing once to another tree giving us an

Following a tip from Lars Benson, Doug Stucki and I drove out to St. John's
University campus this morning to look for Bohemian waxwings, but we were
unsuccessful. Admittedly, it was two days after Lars saw them, but - you never
know!
On the way back through St. Cloud we checked the VA campus

This morning my dad saw the pair of Carolina wrens at his suet feeder,
this time one wren was actually feeding the other pieces of suet. This
pair has been showing up at my parent's house almost daily since I first
